Human Relations

Welcome to the Human Relations course at New World University.

Knowing how to get along with others, resolve workplace conflict, manage relationships, communicate well, and make good decisions are all critical emotional intelligence skills students need to succeed in career and in life. This Human Relations course will address all of the critical topics to obtain career success. Its focus is broad: it focuses on general career success and how to effectively maneuver in the workplace. The core concept of the course is emotional intelligence and how these skills carry over into career success, such as through ethics, communication, diversity, teamwork, conflict, good decision making, stress management, motivation, and leadership.

This course relies with our gratitude on the first edition of Beginning Human Relations by Laura Portolese Dias of Central Washington University, and as such its long form readings are released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 License.
